1 dead after Trinity County crash involving 18-wheelers

TRINITY COUNTY, Texas — A 43-year-old man was killed after a crash involving a 18-wheeler pushing another one on State Highway 94 in Trinity County Saturday evening. 

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened west of Apple Springs before 6 p.m. An 18-wheeler was towing an over-sized load trailer was getting pushed by another 18-wheeler traveling east. 

The 18-wheeler that was pushing the load from the rear left the roadway for an unknown reason, flipped on its side and came to a stop, DPS said. 

Ian Manatse, of Conroe, driver of the 18-wheeler that was pushing the other 18-wheeler, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The other 18-wheeler driver was not injured. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
