1 killed, another injured in fiery crash on Highway 183 in Fort Worth, officials say

 

The crash involved a truck and a sedan, according to the Fort Worth Fire Department.

FORT WORTH, Texas — One person is dead and another was hospitalized after a fiery two-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of Highway 183 near Amon Carter Boulevard Friday, officials say.

Call logs show crews were called to the crash shortly after 11 a.m. and Fort Worth Fire Department officials say the crash involved a truck and a sedan.

The driver of the pickup truck was pulled out by bystanders who noticed smoke coming from the hood and got the woman out before the truck caught fire, officials told WFAA.

The driver of the truck, a woman about 40, was taken to an area hospital, fire officials say.

The driver of the sedan, a man about 70, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Fort Worth Fire Department.

No other details about the crash or people involved were immediately available.
