1-on-1 with Micah’s mom: Cowboys defensive superstar wants to stay with Dallas

Micah Parsons might soon become one of the highest-paid non-quarterbacks in the NFL with his next contract.

DALLAS — Life is good if you’re Micah Parsons.

The Dallas Cowboys defensive superstar will become one of the higher paid players in the NFL once he signs his next contact.

Barring a Luka Doncic-level surprise, Parsons’ second contract would be a multi-year extension with the team that drafted him 12th overall in 2021.

The 25-year-old has a case to be the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league. Considering his agent is David Mulugheta – known for driving hard bargains and getting top dollar for his clients, especially guaranteed money – Parsons just might get it.

When will the deal be made? That remains to be seen. If the Cowboys continue their recent history of contract holdouts, fans (and Parsons) may be waiting until late August or early September.

The four-time Pro Bowler has previously told reporters (and family) that he wants to stay.

“He wants be a Cowboy,” asserts Sherese Parsons, Micah’s mother. “He wants to be a Cowboy for life. He likes it here and he said, ‘Mom, even if I didn’t get drafted by Dallas, I still wanna move to Dallas.'”

Late last season, Sherese sat down with WFAA’s Jonah Javad to discuss Micah’s journey to NFL stardom, including the funny and compelling stories along the way.
