Rains County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the driver and continued the pursuit that entered into Delta County.
DELTA COUNTY, Texas — A police pursuit that spanned across multiple East Texas counties came to an end following a crash in Delta County Thursday afternoon.
According to the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, the pursuit of the driver began in Van Zandt County, but deputies lost contact. Rains County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the driver and continued the pursuit that entered into Delta County.
The vehicle continued driving westbound on State Highway 154 at high speeds, but the chase ended when the car crashed on FM 154 at FM 1529.
The Delta County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office and local first responders, helped with getting the person out of the vehicle, and the driver was taken to a neighboring hospital with unknown injuries.
“Please avoid the area of FM 154 and FM 1529 as local law enforcement, along with DPS, are processing the crash scene,” Sheriff Marshall Lynch said.
