SAN ANTONIO – A student at Brandeis High School is expected to be charged criminally after he allegedly used a GoPro to film several female Reserve Officers’ Training Corps students changing, district officials confirmed.
Barry Perez, a spokesperson for Northside Independent School District, told KSAT an ROTC instructor discovered a hidden GoPro camera in an ROTC classroom on March 10. Despite not being a dressing room, the classroom is routinely used by ROTC students to change into and out of uniforms.
“The instructor turned the camera over to campus administration who began investigating the contents with the support of the NISD Police Dept,” Perez said.
According to Perez, the GoPro contained multiple 10-minute video segments that show a total of 11 female ROTC cadets as they changed.
Parents of all the students who were seen in the videos were notified by campus administration beginning last week, Perez said.
He clarified that the segments retrieved from the GoPro contained no images or video of any full nudity.
The school administration also identified a male student in one of the GoPro videos. He is believed to be the person responsible for placing the camera inside the room, according to district police who are investigating the incident.
“Campus officials took disciplinary action against the male student who denied involvement,” Perez said.
District officials confirmed to KSAT that the male student is a senior at the high school.
However, due to student confidentiality, officials said they could not disclose the district’s consequences for the student.
