FORT WORTH, Texas — A 12-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Fort Worth on Thursday night, police said.

Apollo Rogers, of Fort Worth, was identified as the victim, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police in a news release said officers around 8 p.m. responded to an auto-pedestrian crash near the 3700 block of Stalcup Road, near East Berry Street and East Loop 820. When they arrived, they found that a child had been struck by a vehicle, possibly an SUV, and that the SUV drove away “immediately following the accident,” the release said.

First responders took the child, later identified as Rogers, to a hospital, where he died, according to the release.

No arrests have been made, and traffic officers were still investigating the crash late Thursday.
