16-year-old arrested in connection to fatal December shooting at east Bexar County party, BCSO says

  

AUSTIN, Texas – A 16-year-old was arrested Monday in connection with an alleged fatal shooting early December that left a 15 year-old boy dead and a 17-year-old girl injured, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

The unidentified teen faces charges for murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the Dec. 8 shooting at a residence that hosted a party in east Bexar County.

The shooting happened during a party hosted by friends of the victims in the 10400 block of Loop 106 after deputies responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire, BCSO said.

Upon arrival, deputies said they found two victims with gunshot wounds – a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. The girl was transported to a hospital and later recovered.

Witnesses told investigators that a dark-colored Dodge Charger stopped in front of the residence before several people approached the vehicle. Gunshots were fired from inside the car, striking the victims, BCSO said.

Further investigation led to authorities to identify the teen and tracked him to Austin.

Deputies located and arrested the teen at an apartment complex in the 1900 block of Onion Creek Parkway in Austin.

Austin Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force assisted in the arrest, BCSO said.

The teen is being held at the Hays County Juvenile Detention Center, awaiting extradition to Bexar County, according to BCSO.
