BENBROOK, Texas — Game wardens recovered the body of an 18-year-old kayaker from North Texas on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old man went missing on Benbrook Lake Tuesday after an incident caused him and two others aboard a kayak to fall in, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). TPWD officials said the two others were able to make it to shore safely, but the teen never resurfaced.
Texas Game Wardens in Tarrant County responded around 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday and launched a search for the man. That search continued until around 3 p.m. on Wednesday when game wardens found and recovered his body.
The man’s body was released to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. His identity was not immediately made public.
