DALLAS — Two Dallas Police Officers were terminated during two separate disciplinary hearings Monday, the department says.
Officer Scott Simpson was terminated for adverse conduct when he was arrested for unauthorized release of a body-worn camera recording, according to the release, which is classified as a Class A misdemeanor. Officer Simpson was also conducting subject searches through a confidential investigative platform for non-departmental use, authorities say.
Officer Simpson had been with the department since November 2019.
Officer Trainee III Adrian Alcorta was terminated for engaging in adverse conduct when he was arrested for assaulting a family member, the release states, which is classified as a Class C misdemeanor.
Trainee Alcorta had been with the department since April 2023.
