Sophomore guard Sydney Bowles and freshman guard Kylie Marshall from the Texas A&M women’s basketball team are in the transfer portal.
They join sophomore forward Janiah Barker, junior guard Tineya Hylton, junior forward MJ Johnson and senior guard Kay Kay Green who previously entered the portal.
Bowles and Marshall being in the portal was confirmed by an A&M official.

Bowles’ playing time dwindled last season because A&M through the transfer portal added Southern California guard Endyia Rogers and Auburn wing Aicha Coulibaly, who both became starters. They along with junior forward Lauren Ware, who transferred from Arizona, teamed up with returning starters Sahara Jones and Barker to help A&M make a 10-win improvement to 19-13. The Aggies also made the NCAA Tournament, ending a two-year hiatus.
Bowles, who was the 37th-ranked player in the Class of 2022, signed with Taylor when she was at Georgia. Bowles followed Taylor to A&M along with Barker and Hylton who both also had signed with Georgia. Barker was rated third in the Class of 2022 and Hylton joined the Georgia program in the spring of 2022 after reclassifying from the 2021 signing class to ’22 because of COVID-19.
The trio gave Georgia a top 10 recruiting class.
Marshall, who played at Mansfield Lake Ridge, was the state’s top-ranked player by ESPN’s HoopGurlz and she was No. 35 overall.
