SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio firefighters battled two separate fires overnight which burned uncomfortably close to homes.
The first broke out after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday behind a home in the 2800 block of Mission Road.

A man who lives in the home told KSAT 12 News that the building where the fire started was not occupied and was used strictly for storage.
For a time, fire crews were concerned that the flames might spread to other nearby structures.
They also had to worry about power lines that were sparking as they put out the fire.
Eventually, they were able to knock down the flames before they damaged any additional buildings.
Firefighters suspected that the power lines may be what caused the fire.
However, they said the fire was still under investigation.
As those crews began wrapping up their hoses, firefighters across town were called to a separate fire that also broke out in backyard buildings.
They arrived in the 200 block of W. Mistletoe Avenue around 4:30 a.m. but soon realized the fire was burning closer to an alleyway.

Fire crews also had to work to keep the flames from spreading to homes that were close to it.
They say the two buildings involved in the fire also were being used for storage.
Although fire investigators spent some time digging through the ashes, they did not determine the cause of the fire right away.
No one was injured in either fire.
