2024 Fortnite Global Championship, Rocket League World Championships to be hosted at Dickies Arena in North Texas

 

Both events will take place in September, according to a press release from the Fort Worth Sports Commission.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Are you ready to watch some high-level gaming this fall? If so, then you’re in luck!

Dickies Arena in Fort Worth will be the site of the 2024 Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) Global Championship and the 2024 Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) World Championships in September. 

According to a press release from the Fort Worth Sports Commission, the FNCS Global Championship will be held first on Sept. 7 and 8. The RLCS World Championships will follow shortly after from Sept. 13 to Sept. 15. 

The city’s sports commission is expecting the events to bring in more than 250 athletes and a $9.6 million economic impact to the City of Fort Worth. 

“Dickies Arena is excited and honored to host both the Fortnite Battle Royale Global Championship and the Rocket League World Championship this September,” General Manager and President of Trail Drive Management Corp Matt Homan said in a press release. “This is another fantastic opportunity for Fort Worth and Dickies Arena to show fans from around the world what an incredible city and venue we have to experience these esports championships.” 

According to the press release, the FNCS Global Championship will have a prize pool of over $2 million for its duo competition. Meanwhile, the RLCS World Championships will have a prize pool of $1.1 million. 

Dickies Arena will be packed with Esports events through September as the Brag House Recruitment Fair and Colleges Esports are set for Sept. 21 and 22. 

“Fort Worth is quickly becoming a top destination for hosting high-profile esports championships and we look forward to welcoming thousands of Fortnite and Rocket League fans this September,” Executive Director of the Fort Worth Sports Commission Jason Sands said in a press release.
