WACO, Texas (FOX 44) – The fascination and excitement behind the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse has prompted Art Center Waco to host an open call for different works of art.
The competition was open to anyone ages 18 and over, who also resides in the state of Texas. So far, the Center has received close to 20 submissions. The selected winner’s artwork will go on display in celebration of the Eclipse.
“So, we thought it would be really interesting to see how artists interpreted this phenomenon that people have, you know, either feared or admired or loved throughout mankind,” says Art Center Waco Executive Director Megan Bias. “Artists have a really amazing way of looking at things in different ways. So we hope that it brings lots of different perspectives to something that is beautiful already.”
The exhibit will run from March 28 through May 4.
