Three children and one woman were killed in a Wise County crash Tuesday morning, authorities said.
An initial investigation found a Mack truck towing a tanker trailer was traveling eastbound on FM 1810, near County Road 1340, and a Chevrolet Equinox was traveling westbound a little after 5:30 a.m., a Texas Department of Public Safety news release stated. The driver of Equinox passed in a no-passing zone and struck the Mack truck head-on, Texas DPS officials said.
The Equinox caught on fire, and all occupants inside died at the scene. The state agency said the driver was 32-year-old Brandy Nicole Price and the passengers were three children, ages 10, 7, and 3.
The driver of the Mack truck was taken to a local hospital with injuries officials believed were not life-threatening. Officials said the investigation into the collision is ongoing, and no additional information was immediately available.
