3 FC Dallas players called up for USMNT January camp

The training camp will kick off Jan. 21.

FRISCO, Texas — Three FC Dallas players have been called up to the U.S. Men’s National Team for January camp, the club announced on Wednesday.

Forward Jesús Ferreira, winger Paul Arriola and midfielder Paxton Pomykal will represent the stars and stripes throughout the January slate. Ferreira is the only one of the three who made the USMNT team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but Arriola played a key role in the tune-up matches leading into the tournament. 

Pomykal earns his first USMNT call-up since the 2020 January camp. 

To date, Arriola has made 48 appearances for the U.S., Ferreira has suited up 16 times and Pomykal only has one appearance. Arriola has scored 10 goals for the U.S. Ferreira has scored seven times. 

USMNT assistant coach Anthony Hudson will oversee the USMNT camp alongside World Cup assistant coach B.J. Callaghan and Under-20 Men’s Youth National Team head coach Mikey Varas. 

The training camp will kick off Jan. 21. 

The USMNT faces Serbia on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, and follows that match with another against Colombia on Saturday, Jan. 28 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.
