A threat was made against the HEB ISD District Alternative Education Program, according to the Euless Fire Department.
EULESS, Texas — Three HEB ISD campuses were evacuated Wednesday morning after a threat was made against the District Alternative Education Program campus, the Euless Fire Department said in a press release.
The alternative education campus, the KEYS learning center and the nearby Central Junior High were all evacuated “as well as other individuals involved,” the release states. The Euless police and fire departments are helping with the evacuation, officials said. Police are asking residents to avoid the area around 1100 Raider Drive in Euless.
A family reunification center was set up at the HEB ISD administration building located at 1849 Central Drive, Bedford. The district is asking parents and guardians to come pick up their students with a photo ID. Once your identity is verified, the district will bring your student to you, the district said.
The students are being supervised by teachers and staff until they are picked up by parents, the district said. An ambulance is on-site at the administration building “in an abundance of caution,” the district said. There is no incident and no arrests have been made, the district said.
“During a school evacuation, students and staff follow established safety protocols to quickly and orderly exit the building to a designated safe location,” HEB ISD said in an update to parents. “Teachers and staff guide students, ensuring attendance is taken and everyone remains calm. Emergency personnel, including law enforcement and school administrators, assess the situation while keeping communication open with families.”
The school district said it will release more information as it becomes available.
