3 Terror Suspects Caught After Crossing US Border Illegally – How Many More Come In Undetected?

On Sunday, an exclusive story in the New York Post informed us that three Palestinian men with suspected ties to terror groups were captured in July – after crossing into the United States illegally over our southern border.

Border agents detained three Palestinian migrants who illegally crossed the southern border after they were found to have possible ties to terrorist organizations earlier this month, according to sources.

One of the migrants had “salacious photos” on their phone — including a picture of a masked man holding an AK-47 rifle, federal law enforcement sources said.

In addition to the three Palestinians, federal authorities caught one migrant from Turkey who was also suspected of having ties to terror groups.

The migrants were among groups of dozens of migrants who turned themselves into border agents at the San Diego sector, said sources.

An investigation into the migrants is ongoing, sources said. The group was transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating their cases.

Four, then, have been caught. How many more have escaped into the United States undetected?

We have had three-and-a-half years of a presidential administration that has mostly ignored this problem, except to facilitate the entry of people flooding across our southern border by allowing them to use the magic word “asylum”–and then assigning them a hearing date months or years in the future. We are setting ourselves up for a catastrophe of the likes that we are used to seeing in other parts of the world.

Americans may as well get used to the idea of terror attacks happening here – because they already are. (Does 9/11 ring any bells?)

To their credit, the Border Patrol is doing what they can with the tools they have been given. As the NY Post article (linked above) notes:

Overwhelmed Border Patrol agents tell The Post that they do not have the tools to fully vet the migrants who are coming in from all over the world — particularly into the San Diego area.

Mostly, they are only able to use US terror watchlists and other American resources to help determine which migrants could be a terror threat. Border agents do not have access to terror or criminal databases from other countries.

“Knowing who these guys are, we have, like, no access to anything international. Like, we really don’t and it kind of sucks,” said one border agent, who spoke anonymous because they were not authorized to give public statements.

I’ve been saying it for years: For far too long, we have been allowing thousands, even millions of people who crossed the border illegally, to stay here. Think on that for a moment; regardless of their origins or intentions, regardless of their ethnicity, age, or family status, the very first act they take on entering our country is to break the law, and we meekly give them the notice to appear before an immigration judge months or years later and release them into the United States.

All too many of them are young, military-aged men. And, again, as I’ve been saying for years, we have little or no idea where many of them came from, where they intend to go, or what they intend to do when they get there. These four got caught – but how many more got away? And where are they now?

The bill always comes due. And in this case, the cost may be more than we as a nation can bear.
