4.5, 2.6-magnitude earthquakes rattle 2 towns southeast of San Antonio, USGS says

  

KARNES COUNTY, Texas – Two earthquakes were reported several hours apart from one another in two counties southeast of San Antonio, according to the United States Geological Survey.

Karnes County earthquake

The USGS reported the earthquake occurred just before 9:30 p.m., approximately 44 miles southeast of San Antonio in Karnes County.

The earthquake’s depth was 2.3 miles, the agency said.

It is unclear if any damage or injuries have been reported.

Wilson County earthquake

Then, around 12:15 a.m. Thursday, a second earthquake was reported 11 miles southeast of Stockdale in Wilson County, according to the USGS.

The earthquake’s depth was 5 miles.

Floresville and Pleasanton residents posted to Facebook that they could feel the earthquake.

“Felt in Flroesville, very scary. Shook our home,” one user wrote.
