The pursuit continued into Van Zandt County, where the Van Police Department spiked the front two tires on the suspect vehicle.
VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas — Four men from Arlington were arrested near Van after a police chase over a missing teen came to an end.
According to the Van Zandt County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office, on Sunday after 5 p.m., the Lindale Police Department and Smith County Sheriff’s Office tried to stop the vehicle related to a missing 14-year-old. The vehicle refused to stop, and officers chased the car nearly to Longview before it turned around westbound on Interstate 20.
After a short drive through Hideaway Lake’s golf course, the pursuit continued into Van Zandt County, where the Van Police Department spiked the front two tires on the suspect vehicle. Texas Highway Patrol brought the pursuit to a stop at the westbound rest area near Van, the constable’s office said.
The agency said four men from Arlington were arrested. One person was wanted, one had removed his ankle monitor and a 14 year-old boy was in the car.
“We were able to assist Highway Patrol, Game Wardens and Smith Co. SO and we appreciate our continued relationships with our neighboring agencies,” the constable’s office said.
