4 hospitalized after road-rage incident led to rollover crash on South Side, SAPD says

SAN ANTONIO – An altercation at the Poteet Flea Market between two groups of people led to a road-rage incident on the South Side, according to San Antonio police.

The two vehicles involved in the incident collided around 4:15 p.m. on Sunday on the Southeast Loop 410 access road just before Roosevelt Avenue.

Police said the groups argued at the flea market, but it was unclear what prompted the disagreement.

Eventually, the groups left the flea market in separate vehicles, but authorities said a road-rage incident ensued.

Witnesses reported that the drivers repeatedly rammed their vehicles into each other. SAPD said it is still working to identify who the primary aggressor was in this case.

Police said both vehicles ultimately flipped over.

The lone occupant of one vehicle — a 48-year-old man — was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A man and his two children, who were in the other vehicle, were taken to a hospital for further treatment. They are expected to recover.

According to police, the Southeast Loop 410 eastbound access road and the Roosevelt Avenue exit ramp will be closed for several hours pending further investigation.
