5 people shot, 1 killed in late-night Dallas incident, police say

 

Officers had responded to a shooting call and found that a shooting happened between two groups of people.

DALLAS — Five people were shot and one of them died in West Dallas late Monday night, police said.

The shooting happened shortly before 11 p.m. at Canada Drive and Gulden Lane, near the Trinity River and the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, according to a police news release.

Officers had responded at 10:56 p.m. to a shooting call and found that a shooting happened between two groups of people. Five people were shot in the incident, police said. Dallas Fire-Rescue took the five victims to local hospitals, and one of the victims died, according to the police news release.

More information about how the shooting happened was not released. The name of the person who died has not been released.
