$600K in jewelry stolen from Dallas store after suspects bust glass cases, police say

 

Surveillance footage shared by the owner of the store showed at least four suspects stealing from jewelry cases at the El Rancho Supermarket around 4:40 p.m.

DALLAS — Several suspects are accused of stealing around $600,000 in jewelry from a Dallas store Sunday afternoon, police said.

The incident happened at the El Rancho Supermercado in the 2500 block of Gus Thomasson Road in East Dallas around 4:40 p.m., according to police.

Surveillance footage shared by the owner of the store showed at least four suspects stealing from jewelry cases located inside the store. The footage showed one of the suspects busting through the glass with a hammer, while one of the employees stood on the other side. The employee could be heard yelling, “Whoa!” when the suspects arrived and started breaking cases.

The employee appeared to approach the suspects, but they kept taking from the jewelry cases.

No one was injured in the incident, according to police. The suspects left the store in a vehicle, but more information was not yet available, police said.

No arrests have been made.
