SAN ANTONIO – Fifteen people have been displaced following an apartment fire on the city’s North Side late Tuesday night, the San Antonio Fire Department said.
The fire was called in just before midnight in the 1500 block of Jackson Keller Road, not far from Jackson Keller Elementary School.
Firefighters said when they arrived, they found flames showing from the two-story apartment building. Everyone inside the eight units were safely evacuated out, fire officials said. The fire was quickly put out.
Firefighters say the fire began on the second floor and that seven of the eight units were either affected by fire, smoke or water damage. As many as 15 people have been displaced as a result of the fire, fire officials said.
The SAFD said the cause is still under investigation. Damage to the building is estimated around $100,000 to $150,000.
The San Antonio Fire Department and San Antonio Police Department both answered the call. No injuries were reported.
