In yet another example that the depth of depravity and evil that lives among us continues to reach new lows, a man in Chicago tried to buy a 5-year-old girl from her mother on a Chicago street in broad daylight. When the mother refused, the deranged man attempted to snatch the little girl away — by her hair.
The entire encounter was caught on surveillance video.
As reported by WGN in Chicago, police have issued a community alert after the kidnapping attempt on the city’s Northwest Side. Not to unfairly disparage the Southside, but the Northwest is a far cry from the gang warfare, violent crime, and ever-rising death toll. The operative word was “unfairly.”
According to police, the man engaged in a brief conversation with the mother and offered her an unknown amount of money in exchange for her daughter. Still shocking, even after writing it a second time.
When the mother refused to sell her little girl — who knew? — the man appeared to remain calm, as the mom and child turned and walked away, which was when the would-be kidnapper tried to grab the girl’s hair. The mom slapped his hands, and she and her little girl were able to safely escape.
Something tells me there might a “rest of the story,” here — but we’ll have to wait to find out.
Investigators have described the suspect as a Hispanic male with bright red hair and a thin beard, between 20 and 25 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7 inches tall, and 150 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a black t-shirt, a black hat, and red shorts at the time of his encounter with the mother and daughter.
So let’s play this out a bit, and go out on a very safe limb. I mean, it’s not like we haven’t seen similar reports — and some, far worse — in the past, many with tragic endings.
The most recent case to make national headlines was the kidnapping and brutal murder of a 34-year-old kindergarten teacher and mother of two, and heiress to a multi-billion company, who was abducted and brutally murdered by an ex-convict in Memphis, a week ago Friday. On the following Monday, Eliza Fletcher’s body was found near accused murderer Cleotha Abston’s address.
Here’s the kicker: As Fox News reported on the same day Fletcher’s body was found, Abston has a long history of violence, including aggravated assault and rape. As reported by The New York Post on Saturday, Abston has now been slapped with unrelated kidnap and rape in a 2021 case.
Shall we all ask the question, together?
Why do these violent dirtbags continue to walk out of jail like their cells have revolving doors? Worse, many are repeat violent offenders who are released on cashless or low-cost bonds. Here’s the answer, in three words: Democrat city governments. As the meme thing says: Prove me wrong.
While attempted kidnapping and kidnapping and murder are different cases, if the unidentified little girl’s potential abductor had been successful — and he turns out to be a repeat offender –how might that breaking news story have turned out?
We’ve heard this explanation, multiple times: sexual predators and pedophiles don’t “get better” and are not “curable.” It’s dangerous as hell and unconscionably reckless to suggest they can — much less to lie about a convicted criminal because you’re a left-wing zealot who cares more about murderers, rapists, and other violent criminals than about their victims and their families. As also reported by Fox News, criminal profiler and psychotherapist John Kelly, who has interviewed multiple serial killers, explained:
The thing about these sexual predators, it seems it doesn’t matter how much time they do. When they get out, they’re back on the hunt.
Unfortunately, Eliza Fletcher and countless others brutally lost their lives to these animals. Fortunately, the little 12-year-old girl did not. But how many more will — before the revolving-door insanity and left-wing Democrat mayors, district attorneys, and prosecutors are removed from impacting criminal justice?
Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gasc?n, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, and Cook County, IL State’s Attorney Kim Foxx were all unavailable for comment.
Huh. Go figure.
