Man shot, critically wounded during possible robbery inside Northeast Side business

SAN ANTONIO – A shooting inside a Northeast Side business has left a man in critical condition and left San Antonio police looking for answers.

Officers found the victim after 1:30 a.m. at a strip mall in the 4400 block of Parkwood, not far from Interstate 35 and Rittiman Road.

They said he appeared to be in his 30s or 40s and had suffered a gunshot wound to his chest.

He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

The name listed on the door of the business is Sassee’s Cleaning.

Police say witnesses told them the shooter was wearing a grey hoodie and was with two other men.

All three took off running toward Rittiman Road after the shooting.

Early on, police did not mention a motive.

However, a woman who showed up at the business a few hours later told KSAT 12 that the shooting happened during a robbery.

She said she was not the owner of the business, but had been instructed by police to lock the door.

The woman said she did not know who the victim was or his relationship to the business owner.
