New Braunfels police searching for suspect in restaurant burglary

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – The New Braunfels Police Department is asking for the community’s help to identify a restaurant burglary suspect.

Surveillance camera video shows a man breaking into the 7 Monks Caf? restaurant on the 400 block of North Seguin Avenue around 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday.

The suspect was caught stealing a cash register, tablets, a printer and other property.

“I was shocked that somebody would just come in. We’re a really small business. We’re very close to the community,” said Rashmi Bhat, owner of 7 Monks Caf?.

Bhat believes the suspect may have broken in through the establishment’s back door.

“More than anything, I’d really hate for any other business to go through what we’re going through,” she said.
