Man killed in Duncanville shooting; police asking for more witnesses to come forward

Police say several possible witnesses and the victim’s girlfriend have been cooperating with officers.

DUNCANVILLE, Texas — Police in Duncanville have started investigating a shooting that killed a man early Sunday morning. They’re now looking for more witnesses to come forward.

The department said in a news release that they got a call about the shooting at 2:26 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15. Officers were dispatched to the scene on Sunrise Lane near Highway 67 and Danieldale Road.

When they arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Police provided medical assistance and called on paramedics to help, but paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The department said officers identified the victim’s girlfriend and several possible witnesses who have all been cooperating with detectives.

No suspects have been arrested in connection to the shooting, but police don’t believe there’s an ongoing threat to the public.
