Three puppies found in ditch, covered in ticks, during wintry weather, ACS says

SAN ANTONIO – Three puppies were found in a ditch during the recent wintry weather, cold, wet and covered in ticks, according to San Antonio Animal Care Services.

Now, the three pups, named Dylan, Alex and Natalie, are searching for their forever homes.

ACS’s Community Animal Support and Assistance (CASA) team was assisting residents when they found two of the puppies near a drainpipe in a ditch. With concerns looming about the puppies’ safety, they were brought in for care, the shelter said.

A third puppy was found nearby, hiding, and was also taken to the shelter.

After being examined, all three puppies were said to be in good health and just needed a safe place to stay, the shelter said.

A few hours later, the puppies were taken in by the Spay-Neuter-Inject-Protect San Antonio, Inc. (SNIPSA). After receiving care, they’re all now tick-free, healthy and ready to find their forever families.
