AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person died in north Austin after a shooting early Saturday, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.
Austin Police said officers arrived at 7:03 a.m. after multiple 911 calls reported gunshots in the 300 block of Deen Avenue.
When police and ATCEMS arrived, one person was found with gunshot wounds. Officials said the individual was confirmed dead at the scene. The person was only identified as a man in his 30s, according to police.
APD said it could not provide any suspect information during its 10:30 a.m. briefing. The homicide is believed to be an isolated incident.
APD said they are investigating this as Austin’s 17th homicide in 2023.
