Barrage of gunfire on East Side leaves more than 30 shell casings in street, 1 woman injured, police say

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police say a barrage of gunfire on the East Side left tons of shell casings in the street and injured a woman in her 50s late Tuesday night.

The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. in the 300 block of Kenmar Drive, not far from East Houston Street and Upland Road.

According to police, multiple shots rang out during a drive-by shooting. The target and motive of the shooting however are not currently known. A woman was advised to go to the hospital after being hurt during the gunfire.

Police say she was either grazed by a bullet or hit by debris.

Investigators found around 30 or more shell casings all in the street.

No other injuries were reported, and no suspect information was given.
