BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — SpaceX is planning to build a $100 million office and industrial factory that could fit 15 football fields.

The project, titled “SpaceX Starbase Office,” will be located in Brownsville, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records. The location is at the SpaceX launch facility on Boca Chica Beach.

The project has an estimated cost of $100 million.

The scope of work includes five levels of office mezzanine, an addition to an approximately 1-million-square-foot “special use industrial factory.”

The start date for the project is listed as Feb. 23, with a completion date of Jan. 1, 2025.

Last month, ValleyCentral reported that SpaceX was planning to open a $15 million shopping center in Brownsville. The project will include a grocery store, retail shops and a restaurant with an outdoor deck overlooking the Rio Grande.
