It’s a question many of our readers regularly ask in the comments section: what’s the point of all these House investigations if they never seem to lead to actual consequences for the president and the Biden Family Business, or for Alejandro Mayorkas and other corrupt political figures?

Fox host Maria Bartiromo has some of the same queries, and she put them to House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) on “Sunday Morning Futures.”
They were talking about the Judiciary Committee’s conclusion that the “hush money” case against Donald Trump was political persecution, but then Bartiromo cut to the chase. She got pretty worked as she demanded to know: where are the results?
Well, look, I mean, at this point, American citizens are asking, what can you do about it? I mean, look, with all due respect, people are sick and tired of congressional investigations that go nowhere.
People are sick and tired of letters being written and sent to the people who we know are bad in the first place.
The Ohio congressman’s answers will likely frustrate conservatives who want answers—and accountability. He tried to defend the House efforts but admitted that there’s only so much they can do because, in the end, they are legislators, not law enforcement officials.
“Well, we have passed legislation out of the committee that would help remedy this situation, particularly the one in New York, but the president or vice president can move a case to federal — to federal court from when you do these state prosecutors who are going after someone for a political reason,” Jordan responded.
“So, we’re — we’re a legislative branch. We can’t put anyone in jail. And I don’t think the Biden administration, their [Department of Justice] is going to go after the people who — need to go after. You’re just not going to get that from [U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland],” he continued.

Watch:
Jordan continued, arguing that the Biden administration and will never help get the answers we’re looking for. It was his turn to get worked up as explained that he was getting stonewalled by the DOJ, but that the investigations were nevertheless shining a much-needed light on the situation:
We don’t know from the Biden administration, who planted the pipe bombs on January 6? Who leaked the Dobbs draft opinion—you know, the one that led to an assassination attempt on Justice Kavanaugh. Who put cocaine in the White House?
We don’t seem to get the answers to those questions, but oh, you can have someone from the Biden Justice Department like Jack Smith go after President Trump. You can have the DOJ say we’re gonna investigate parents who show up at school board meetings. You can have the Richmond FBI say, oh, if you’re a pro-life Catholic, you’re an extremist.
He reiterated that as long as the Democrats are in power, he’s facing a brick wall of resistance.
So they got time for all that, but they can’t answer some fundamental questions that I think the American people would like to get answers to. Our job is to get the facts out there and to look at legislation. We can’t prosecute anyone. Only the DOJ can.
And frankly, the Biden DOJ is just not going to do it.

Unfortunately, these answers aren’t going to please many on the conservative side. Bartiromo’s frustration mirrors ours. That being said, Jordan is right in the sense that their hands are somewhat tied as legislators. They could use the power of the purse to defund the FBI and things like that, but that would be a heavy political battle and even if they were successful, results would not be coming forth quickly.
I have actually defended the investigations here in the past on the pages of RedState because I think at least they’re exposing the blatant rot at the heart of the Biden administration. Hopefully, that will translate at the polls in November because getting rid of these clowns is the only way we’ll have a chance to get these answers.
In the meantime, Bartiromo is all of us.
