Teen killed in shooting during fight after Dallas crash, police say

DALLAS — A teenager was fatally shot and two other people were injured during a fight after a crash in Dallas on Thursday night, police said.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of North Masters Drive and Carolina Oaks Drive, according to a police news release.

Police said they learned that a minor crash happened at the intersection. After the crash, people not involved in the crash began fighting. At some point, police said, someone started shooting and hit three people.

A 16-year-old was taken to a hospital, where they died. Their name has not been released.

A second victim was shot in the foot and taken to a hospital for treatment. A third victim went to the hospital on their own for minor injuries, police said.

It was unclear if the victims were involved in the initial crash or the fight.

More information about how the fight and shooting happened was not released. Police are still investigating the case.
