Texas A&M has addressed a ton of needs via the portal this offseason (particularly at CB, TE and DE), but the one need that still stood out was at wide receiver. They took a step to address that need on Wednesday with the addition of Iowa transfer WR Jake Bostick.
Bostick is 6’2”, 185 pounds, and was a three-star recruit out of high school. After entering the portal on April 16, he received scholarship offers from A&M, Ole Miss , Pitt, Fresno State, Houston, Vanderbilt and Iowa State. He’ll have three years of eligibility remaining.
Bostick is the third WR the Aggies have added via the transfer portal this offseason, joining Louisiana Tech’s Cyrus Allen and Troy’s Jabre Barber (who is expected to miss some time after injuring his foot during spring practice). But Bostick brings some needed height to the room, joining Noah Thomas and Jahdae Walker as the only receivers on A&M’s roster at 6’2” or higher.
While the expectation is that Noah Thomas, Jahdae Walker and Moose Muhammad will enter the 2024 season as the Aggies’ starting WRs, the room is very short on depth. Behind this starting group was only sophomore Micah Tease, freshman Isaiah Williams and they two aforementioned transfers. It underscores why Bostick, while not a highly rated recruit, is a significant addition for the Aggies as they look to injury-proof their roster for 2024.
