A staggering number of restaurants have opened in North Texas since we last compiled a list of new openings. This list includes 20 of them, which range from a fast-casual chain making its Texas entry to a cozy neighborhood bistro serving moules frites and a Mumbai-inspired dessert shop.

Bali Street Cafe near Love Field
This Indonesian restaurant recently made the move from Frisco to Dallas and had a name change along the way. Formerly known as The Koi Way, it’s now called Bali Street Cafe and specializes in Indonesian street food. The menu has fried chicken kalasan, beef ribs soup, chicken congee and fritters of all kinds. There is also a sizable drink menu with coffee, boba, milk teas and Indonesian shaved ice desserts like es campur.

Beaux Boudin in Arlington
Texas and Louisiana flavors meld at Beaux Boudin, which opened March 27 in Arlington. Boudin, unsurprisingly, dominates the menu at this Cajun and Creole spot. The pork and rice sausage comes in whole links, fried balls, tacos and patty melts. It’s also sold frozen by the pack.

Bojangles in Frisco and Little Elm
Two new North Texas locations of Bojangles, a North Carolina-based fried chicken and biscuit chain, are opening in Frisco and Little Elm. The chain, which is known for its Bo-berry biscuits and Southern fried chicken, plans to have a total of 20 locations in Dallas-Fort Worth in the next few years, CEO José Armario told our Sarah Blaskovich last year.

Fanzo Sports Bar in Frisco
A new sports bar opened in Frisco near the intersection of Preston Road and Wade Boulevard. Fanzo’s goal is to “revolutionize the sports bar experience” by offering a more upscale approach, according to the bar’s website. The 5,000-square-foot bar serves lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Goldie’s in Lake Highlands
This much-anticipated East Dallas restaurant is now serving dinner and drinks in Lake Highlands. Goldie’s, which is located in the spot formerly occupied by RM 12:20, is a snug neighborhood restaurant with moules frites, filet mignon and zucchini bucatini on the menu, and gimlets and martinis from the bar. The owners told Blaskovich they plan to add a late-night food menu and a private dining room.

Knife Italian in Las Colinas
Chef John Tesar opened Knife Italian at the Ritz-Carlton in Las Colinas in March. Some of the d ishes on the hotel restaurant menu are inspired by those at Knife & Spoon, Tesar’s Orlando restaurant that won a Michelin star in 2022 , reported Blaskovich. Tesar, who was a bombastic presence at one point on bravo TV’s Top Chef, said the aim at the Italian steakhouse is for every meal to feel “elaborate.”
Knife Italian opened March 19, 2024 inside the main entrance of the newly rebranded Ritz-Carlton at 4150 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving. It is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and closed from 2-5 p.m. knifeitalian.com.
NDA Brasserie in Harwood District
This new restaurant tucked in between the office towers of the Harwood District is a rare breed. It’s one of the only newly opened sit-down restaurants in the city that serves strictly breakfast and lunch. Both menus — with items like breakfast sandwiches, tres leches French toast, kale salad and steak frites — are available all day.

Rise in Plano
Rise, a longtime Dallas soufflé restaurant visited by the likes of Martha Stewart, now has a location in Plano. The restaurant’s first location opened in 2008, and there are now four locations in Texas. A fifth location is expected to open in Southlake in 2025, according to Blaskovich.

Starship Bagel in Far North Dallas
Oren Salomon is now selling his award-winning bagels in the northern reaches of Dallas. Starship Bagel has a new location in Hillcrest Village where Cane Rosso set up shop in 2022. There are two other locations in downtown Dallas and Lewisville. Try Salomon’s go-to combo — a plain bagel with fermented jalapeño cream cheese.

Super Duper Cookie Co. in University Park
More than a dozen cookies are on the menu at Super Duper, a new University Park cookie shop that is part of the IDD Employment Foundation. The foundation provides grants for employment programs and businesses that employ people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The GOAT in Uptown
This two-story bar and restaurant, which Blaskovich describes as “Las Vegas at dinner time,” has a Mediterranean menu, over-the-top drinks and a DJ booth overlooking the dining room. It’s located at the bottom of The Link, a new tower at the corner of Olive Street and Harry Hines Boulevard.

The Kati Roll in downtown Dallas
The first U.S. location of The Kati Roll to open outside of New York recently set up shop in downtown Dallas. The fast-casual Indian restaurant specializes in Kati rolls — a handheld paratha wrap popular in Kolkata, India. Chicken tikka masala, aloo masala and achari paneer are a few of the kati rolls on the menu, along with chicken and vegan momos that come steamed or pan-fried.

Jack & Harry’s in University Park
At this new addition to Snider Plaza, New Orleans takes the spotlight. The cocktail list is inspired by French Quarter legends like the Carousel Bar and Antoine’s, and oysters, dirty rice, gumbo and steaks anchor the menu. Jack & Harry’s is the latest addition to the restaurant portfolio from Vandelay Hospitality, which is behind Hudson House, East Hampton Sandwich Co., Drake’s and Brentwood.

Maya Creamery and Lounge
The first North Texas location of Mumbai-inspired dessert shop Maya Creamery and Lounge is now open in McKinney. Rolled ice cream, faloodas, bubble teas, macarons and crepes are all served here. Many of the recipes used at Maya Creamery belonged to owner Sukhi Singh’s grandfather who had his own dessert shop in India, according to Community Impact. Singh told the publication the plan is to expand across Dallas-Fort Worth with locations eventually in Dallas, Frisco, Irving, Plano and Prosper.

Miznon in Deep Ellum
Miznon, a Tel Aviv-born fast-casual restaurant, is now open in Deep Ellum where Postino was previously located. The menu of Israeli street food hinges on pitas, roasted vegetables and hummus. Try their famous baby cauliflower, which comes whole and charred.

Mo’ Bettahs in downtown Dallas
This Hawaiian fast-casual chain opened a “digital kitchen” in downtown Dallas that offers takeout and delivery only. It’s the brand’s second such kitchen, the first of which opened in Kansas City in March.

Oak and Main in Roanoke
A new American grill is now serving lunch and dinner at the corner of, you guessed it, Oak and Main streets in Roanoke. A burger with pepita pesto, brie and raspberry preserves and smoked prime rib queso blanco are two of the dishes listed as favorites on the menu. Happy hour is offered from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and daily from 9 p.m. to close.

Radici in Farmers Branch
Chef Tiffany Derry’s newest concept, Radici, opened this month next to her James Beard-recognized restaurant Roots Southern Table. The Italian restaurant is centered, both literally and figuratively, around a wood-fire grill used for most things on the menu that require heat. The menu is a collection of dishes from various regions in Italy like a Modenese lasagna, suppli and bistecca alla Fiorentina-style ribeye.

Rush Bowls in Casa Linda
In the East Dallas spot where Baldo’s Ice Cream used to be, a Colorado acai bowl and smoothie concept has moved in. Rush Bowls has more than 50 locations across the U.S., but the new Casa Linda Plaza location is the second in Dallas. The first Dallas location opened in 2018 at Mockingbird Station, according to CultureMap.

WaBa Grill in West Oak Cliff
The first Texas location of California-based WaBa Grill, a rice bowl chain, opened in Oak Cliff in April. There are plans to open a total of 10 locations in the Dallas area, according to a release from the company. WaBa’s focus is healthy, on-the-go food cooked over open flame.
