“Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling is back at it again with her ongoing quest to protect women from the trans agenda. This time, her target was Lucy Clark, a biological male experiencing gender dysphoria who was recently appointed as the manager of Sutton United, a women’s soccer club in England’s London and South East Women’s Regional Football League.
Naturally, Clark’s appointment has earned gushing plaudits from folks on the hard left who continue participating in the illusion that men can become women and vice versa. Before this, he was celebrated as a hero for being the first transgender referee in the sport.
Of course, not everyone is pretending this is some wonderful coup for inclusivity. Rowling, along with others, criticized the move. In a post on X, Rowling recalled that when she was young,” all the football managers were straight, white, middle-aged blokes” and sarcastically said, “It’s fantastic to see how much things have changed.”
Australian lawyer Katherine Deves Morgan also chimed in, saying Clark’s appointment was “an easy way to make yourself the centre of attention.”
Clark responded to the backlash in another post on X, characterizing the criticism as “Another day of hate-fuelled transphobia.”
However, Rowling didn’t stop there. She later posted a link to a Daily Mail article claiming she “compared” Clark to a male. The author set the record straight. “I didn’t compare him to one. He IS one,” she wrote.
Author Jonathan Chait responded to Rowling with a bit of mansplaining, telling her to “call people what they want to be called” because it is “basic decency.”
Rowling quickly turned it around on Chait, telling him to “Stop telling women what they are allowed to say.”
Clark’s appointment and the subsequent backlash underscore the raging debate over transgenderism and efforts being made to push far-leftist gender ideology on the public. Critics have raised numerous concerns about how this affects biological women in sports and in other areas of society.
Those lauding Clark’s appointment would argue that it is a great step for inclusivity. This crowd routinely argues against supposed “discrimination” against transgender individuals and prefers portraying their opposition as bigots rather than engaging in actual debate on the issue.
Clark’s situation is a bit different because there are other men who manage soccer clubs. The difference is that they are not pretending to be women.
However, in other cases, spaces reserved specifically for women are being invaded by biological males. This is especially true of the athletes themselves. Females are being forced to compete against physically stronger and faster men in the name of inclusivity.
This has placed many female athletes in unfair and even dangerous situations. Some have faced injuries because of the move to push biological males into women’s sports. Folks like Rowling remain undeterred in their fight against these affronts to women’s rights and the effort to keep progressives from essentially erasing the definition of women.
