A&M’s Coleman enters the transfer portal

   

Texas A&M sophomore designated player Aiyana Coleman, who was an all-stater at A&M Consolidated, has entered the NCAA transfer portal, making the announcement via social media Wednesday.

“I will forever be grateful for the past two years at Texas A&M,” Coleman said on X. “A&M will always hold a special place in my heart but after lots of thoughts and prayer I have decided to put my name in the transfer portal.”

Coleman batted .200 this season. Five of her nine hits were for extra bases. She had a trio of home runs and drove in 18 runs. She struck out 14 times and walked four times.

The right-handed power hitter batted .297 as a freshman with four homers and 15 RBIs. She played in 37 games, starting 22. She had 14 walks and struck out 19 times.

Coleman played catcher, first base and pitched in high school. As a senior at Consol she batted .486 with 12 homers and 47 RBIs. As a junior she hit .481 with eight homers and 32 RBIs. Coleman hit 15 homers as a freshman with 57 RBIs.
