Investigators determined the traffic light was not operating at the intersection when the crash happened.
DALLAS — A driver has died after colliding with a tow truck in Dallas Friday afternoon, police said.
Dallas police responded to a multi-vehicle crash around 2:30 p.m. at North Buckner Boulevard and Chenault Street.
The driver was traveling eastbound on Chenault Street and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto N. Buckner Boulevard when a tow truck going south on Buckner hit the driver’s side, police say. The impact of the crash caused the driver to collide with another vehicle, according to officials.

Dallas Fire-Rescue also responded and pronounced the driver of the car in the initial crash dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
The tow truck driver, 36-year-old Jonathan Davis was treated at the scene, officials say. No other injuries were reported.
Davis was arrested for an outstanding warrant. However, police said no charges have been filed in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
