District 10 Councilman Marc Whyte and Catholic Charities are sponsors of Project Cool to help seniors ages 60 and older or people with disabilities who are in critical need of a box fan to receive a free one.

Seniors can call the United Way Helpline at 2-1-1 to request a box fan. You do not need to be a resident of District 10, as long as you are a San Antonio resident.

Each recipient can receive one fan.

The pick-up location for the box fan will be at the Northeast Senior Center, located at 4135 Thousand Oaks Drive on June 29 from 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. During the event, there will also be a program to teach safe methods to stay cool this summer.
