1 person injured in shooting after Saginaw July 4 celebration, police say

 

The shooting occurred at 9:24 p.m. near Saginaw High School. The July 4 celebration ended at 9 p.m.

SAGINAW, Texas — One person was injured after a shooting broke out shortly after the Saginaw Independence Day celebration, officials said. 

Officers responded to a shooting around 9:24 p.m. Saturday, June 29 near Saginaw High School, according to a press release from the Fort Worth Police Department. 

A fight broke out involving a large group of suspects, during which an unknown person pulled out a gun and started shooting, police said. 

The victim was struck once and transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release. Police did not release the name of the victim. 

The suspect is still unknown and police are investigating, according to the release.
