BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M rookie standout Gavin Grahovac has been named a First Team Freshman All-American by D1Baseball.com, as announced by the outlet Friday.
The Freshman All-America distinction marks the third for Grahovac, who also earned honors from the NCBWA and Perfect Game.
The SEC Freshman of the Year slashed .298/.390/.596 in his first season in Aggieland to go along with a freshman program record 23 home runs. The Maroon & White third baseman registered 85 hits, scored 83 times, drove in 66 runs and doubled 16 times in 67 games. The rookie also recorded 23 multi-hit contests, 17 multi-RBI performance and two multi-homer games.
At the College World Series, Grahovac became the first player in NCAA history to leadoff the opening game of the finals with a homer.
