Rain chances starting to wind down Thursday afternoon

WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Thursday morning’s rain and storms continue to weaken & wind down this afternoon
  • Isolated rain on Friday and this weekend
  • Better rain chances still in the forecast early next with, along with cooler temperatures

FORECAST DETAILS:

After finding scattered rain and a few storms across *parts* of South Central Texas this morning, the lingering rain continues to weaken and fizzle out this afternoon. This will be the case with the remaining activity over the next few hours, with a few breaks in the cloud cover potentially helping highs rebound into the low-90s as a result.

Rain chances will be on more of an isolated basis Friday and into the upcoming weekend, along with high temperatures in the mid-90s.

Better chances for rain arrive early next week as high pressure moves west, making room for a low pressure system to move into the Central Plains. This weather setup, combined with plenty of moisture in place, could potentially allow for multiple rounds of scattered rain to push across South Central Texas as early as Monday.

Something to check back on in the days ahead as we finetune the details! If that verifies, a stretch of cooler-than-average temperatures will be possible with highs closer to 90 degrees. Definitely not what you would expect for this time of year!

Until then — have a great afternoon! ~ Mia
