Toasty start to the month of August with just an isolated weekend rain chance

WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS:
  • – Saharan dust is clearing out
  • – Hot and humid this weekend, highs near 100 degrees, feeling hotter
  • – Small chance for isolated rain this weekend
FORECAST DETAILS:

Hope you’ve had a great Thursday!

Evening plans will consist of temperatures falling through the 90s and eventually into the 80s after sunset under mostly clear skies.

The Saharan dust that’s been hazing up our sky continues to push out of South Texas, with focus now turning to the heat into the upcoming weekend.

Friday starts off in the upper 70s with morning cloud cover, before more sunshine returns in the afternoon and highs reach for the upper 90s. Factor in the humidity, though, and heat indices will likely climb to about 105 degrees. Be careful out there!

Highs near the triple digit mark are expected this weekend, but as high pressure moves slightly to the northwest, a weak boundary moving into North Texas could help spark up a few isolated storms.

Most of the activity should stay north of our area on Saturday, but we’ll keep a stray (10%) chance in the forecast before a slightly better potential (20%-30%) by Sunday evening. Better chances reside across our northern counties and the Hill Country, but we’ll watch to see if any isolated rain can make it to San Antonio.

Highs near 100° this weekend with a small chance of a few storms late Sunday.

After that, rain chances disappear from the forecast again next week, with a very typical August weather pattern taking back over. Highs in the upper 90s are expected each day with plenty of sunshine.

7 Day Forecast for San Antonio as of 8/1/24.
