Triple digits continue for the foreseeable future

FORECAST DETAILS:
Today marked our 14th triple digit day so far this year, and we’ll continue to tally them up over the next week or more.
Despite the heat, we have a bit of hope for isolated showers tomorrow evening and night as a weak boundary drops into South Central Texas. Slightly better rain chances are north of San Antonio, nevertheless, isolated leftover showers could make their way toward San Antonio. Nothing drought denting – just a few splash ‘n dash showers.
Side note: the African dust will stay away from Texas for the foreseeable future, so the thick haze will be kept at bay.
FIRST FRONT ON AVERAGE
Finally, when can expect some relief? The short answer is not anytime soon. But we did dig through a decade of climatology in an attempt to find out when we may see our first ‘real’ cold front. History tells us that it can come as early as the first week of September. We’ve also seen our first ‘real’ front hold off until early October. The average is late September. So, we may be just about a month and half away from relief! Woohoo!
