BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Texas A&M golfer Adela Cernousek fell in the quarterfinal round of the 124th U.S. Women’s Amateur at the Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa.
Junior golfer Asterisk Talley beat Cernousek 1-up to advance to the semifinals.
Cernousek took an early lead on Talley, going up one thru three holes. However, the elite junior golfer won four of the next six holes to carry a three-hole advantage into No. 12. The reigning NCAA Individual Champion made a furious push with wins on 12 and 13 and threatened to even the match several times leading up to the final hole.
Cernousek will begin her collegiate season with A&M at the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach on August 30.
