WATCH: Steph Curry Becomes an Olympic Legend With Insane 4th Quarter to Win Men’s Basketball Gold

The USA Men’s basketball team defeated France 98-87 to win Olympic gold on Saturday. That wasn’t necessarily a surprising outcome given America has dominated the sport on the international stage for decades, but it was how they won that left jaws on the floor.

With just under three minutes left, it was a one-possession game. That’s when NBA star Steph Curry took over with one of the most incredible stretch performances in history. He immediately drilled a three-point jumper. Kevin Durant then went to the line and drained two free throws. France answered with a jump shot to bring the game within reach again.

That’s when Curry completely took over. He made a three-pointer only to have France counter with a three. Curry then made another three-pointer. Once again, France answered with a three-pointer of their own.

Curry got the ball again during the next USA possession, and with a double-team draped on him, he sidestepped to the right. That’s when this happened.

The internet lit up with patriotism in a rare moment of national unity. There was some humor mixed in as well.

It’s always a good day when America puts communists in their place, and by communists, I mean the French. To do it on their home court only made it better.
