The hope is always to get out of all camp without any season-ending injuries, but it seems the Aggies may not have achieved this goal. After holding a scrimmage on Saturday at Kyle Field, it is being reported that Texas A&M RB Rueben Owens may miss the season after suffering a lower leg injury.

While this has not yet been officially confirmed, losing Owens for any amount of time is bad news.

Owens was a five-star recruit in the 2023 class, and as a freshman was third on the team in rushing yards behind Amari Daniels and Le’Veon Moss. While many expected Moss to have the most prominent role in the running game this season, it was very much expected to be a committee approach, so the loss of Owens would certainly have an impact on the Aggies’ on-field plans in 2024.

In addition to Moss and Daniels, Stanford transfer RB EJ Smith may now also take on more responsibility in the run game.
