LU Cardinal Soccer falls to Texas A&M in home opener

Opening the 2024 season at the LU Soccer Complex, Lamar University’s soccer team found itself facing a challenge in #25 Texas A&M. The Cardinals were unable to breakthrough a tough Aggie defense as they were outshot 25-6 and fell 5-0 to start the season 0-1.

Of the six shots taken in total by LU, half of them would come from Taylor Conway, who also fired two shots on goal. Kamryn Harvey, Rafiatu Alhassan, and Kaitlyn Niemeyer would also record a shot for LU. Taylor Howard got the start in goal against one of the nation’s top teams and would earn six saves.

LU will hit the road next Thursday to take on Abilene Christian for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
