HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — Three motorcyclists are dead following a crash near an East Texas lake.
According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, officials in Henderson County responded to a crash Sunday night, around 9 p.m., involving three motorcycles and a vehicle. The wreck occurred on SH 198, near Payne Springs, on a bridge over Cedar Creek Lake.
The TPWD says two motorcyclists were pronounced dead at the scene and another was missing. The missing motorcyclist was believed to have gone over the railing into the lake.
After calling off the search late Sunday night, officials resumed searching Monday morning and recovered the body of the third motorcyclist around 11 a.m.
Details concerning injuries pertaining to the driver of the vehicle have not been made available.
