AUSTIN (KXAN) — Longhorn fans better bring their appetites to Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium this football season.
Not only is the University of Texas warming up for a big football season on the field, marking the Longhorns’ entry into the Southeastern Conference, but things are also heating up in the kitchen.
Senior Executive Chef Mark Krystopa said the school’s concessions menu will have a plethora of offerings, and fans can expect a different menu at each game based on who the Longhorns rival.
“Each game we are trying to change it up,” Krystope said. “So when the Gators come to town, we are going to do some alligator… When we play Louisiana, we will have crawfish boils and focus on their local oyster offerings. Mississippi, we are offering mud pie with a twist on it.”
UT on Tuesday held “Taste of Texas” to taste test some of the concessions options on the menu this season. Some of the offerings include burgers, fresh pastries, baked mac and cheese, watermelon-mozzarella basil salad, and many more.
The Longhorns kick off the season at home against Colorado State on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 2:30 p.m.
